Chief Strategist, Yusef Robb
Yusef Robb is a preeminent crisis management and communications counselor who works with his clients as partners and peers, drawing not just on his strategic consulting experience, but on his own experience in the decision chair and hot seat. He is based in Los Angeles, with extensive experience across the US and overseas.
Robb served as the chief communications adviser to two Mayors of Los Angeles, and as press secretary to a third. He also led communications and later the entire administration of the California state controller, with oversight over the state’s $100B+ budget and the nation’s largest public pension funds, with $100B+ in assets under management. Prior, he led rapid response and was a speechwriter for California’s governor. Robb’s political experience spans presidential, congressional, statewide, local and ballot measure campaigns.
Prior to founding tk/Communications, Robb’s private sector work included roles with leading strategic communications firms in New York and Los Angeles where he represented entertainment figures, Fortune 500 and Supreme Court litigation, global trade organizations, and philanthropies, going on the record with journalists in more than 60 countries and working on the ground across the US and in Asia, Europe and South America.
Robb earned his MA in Politics and BA in Journalism from New York University (NYU), where he was executive editor of the Washington Square News. He is a father, husband and dog walker.
